Views Slideshow for Views 2

I upgraded Views Slideshow to Drupal 6 this week. That means you can now continue to create a slideshow from any view, now easier than ever, thanks to Views 2!

In the Drupal 5 version, you had to set global settings for all slideshows, and it was a bit of a pain to configure them for individual shows. Now, as shown in this screen shot, you are able to configure each view individually.

Erik Gecas's Art Show

So my brother in law (Erik Gecas) has an art exhibit, Painting Physical Presence, that's just opened in Las Vegas! Particularly exciting for me (though admittedly only slightly relevant to the world of Drupal) is that I created his web gallery a few months ago, with Drupal of course. The show is in tandem with Ayako Ono.

The web gallery is largely created with Views Slideshow (for which I still owe a port to d6). In fact, it was largely for this site, which makes a small appearance in Drupal Multimedia, that I beefed up development for that module (and the Magnifier module, that is also used on the site, though not in the book).

This Blog is Built in Drupal 6

I've finally decided to set up a personal blog, which you are looking at right now. I can usually find a few minutes a day to write about whatever's going on, but haven't had a decent forum for some of it, or stuff gets all scattered.

As most of my day is spent working with Drupal, it makes sense that Drupal will get the bulk of these writings. For the purposes of Planet Drupal, those will get sorted on my Drupal blog, whereas the rest will get scattered here and there (until I come up with other relevant categories).
